Had my Toyota backed into by Tracy Nelson of The Fiberglas Works on Beach St. His Motorhome creamed the front end of my new 72 Toyota. He offered me a job with the Fiberglas Works but I had to get back to Canada at the time. Wish I had accepted the Job back then I might have stayed in the states.
ZZ I found out quite a few years later that Tracy's wife died in a rainy night car accident in the mountains between San Jose and Santa Cruz. I really felt for Tracy and his daughter even though so many years had passed. I only hope you never have to live through a tragedy like that.
I recently got ahold of a bunch (7-8) of Tracy Fiberglas Works gas tanks in a load of vintage parts. They are waaaaay cool, they all have these grooooovy patterns in the glass on the bottom of the tank. I can't believe that people actually ran these potential firebombs of street choppers, different times, man. Greenbikemike
Wowwww! that sounds like a big score man!!! Pics, we need pictures!!! yes like you said, they aren't usable at all these days, modern fuels eat em up from the inside! Take a look into the Caswell liner kit for fiberglassed tanks, maybe you can run one of them babies! cheers dude!
ZZ Chop The only reason the company went belly up is due to Tracy's wife being in a fatal accident on the hwy from San Jose to Santa Cruz on a really wild rainy night in California. If things where different that night, who knows where Tracy's Fiberglas Works would have been in today's world of cycles and choppers. I.m guessing at the for front... Tracy's Fiberglas Works was an extremely talented bunch of guys who back then had no match in the fiberglass bike business. I for one only wish things didn't happen that way and I'm pretty sure Tracy does also. Canadian...
i used to hangout exactly where that bike is parked...literally.

ReplyDeleteOh well, maybe the company went belly up the next year, and you would've become homeless or something shitty like that... who knows!
